A petition calling on the BC Legislature to repeal Bill 36 is circulating around BC. The petition will be presented to the legislature by independent MLA John Rustad, early in February, when the Legislature sits again.
We support this petition, and urge you to print a copy, and get signatures from your friends and neighbors, fellow workers and acquaintances. Bill 36, if once implemented, will irreparably damage our BC healthcare system. It includes fines of up to $200,000 and/or 6 months in jail for healthcare practitioners, who prescribe treatment not recommended by BC government officials.
Doctors and other healthcare providers will lose their autonomy, and many will leave the province, rather than face fines for expressing their professional opinion.
Print off the petition as is (do not alter it). Those who sign should give their residential address (not a post office box).
Mail completed petitions to:
MLA John Rustad
PO Box 421
Vanderhoof, BC
V0J 3A0
Ideally, these petitions ought to be mailed before February 1st.
However, if that date is past, please continue to collect signatures, and mail them in to Mr. Rustad. He will continue to present them to the BC Legislature, as they come in. We are hoping to gather at least 50,000 signatures of BC residents.
Thanks.
Rod Taylor
Interim Leader
