Your Donation Helps Build CHP-BC
Any individual who is a Canadian citizen and a permanent resident of B.C. is permitted to contribute up to $1,500 in total per calendar year to a registered provincial party and/or to election candidates for that party. If you have already contributed to a CHP-BC provincial candidate this year, please ensure you have not exceeded your annual limit. Your total contribution to the party and candidate/s must not exceed $1,500 in a given calendar year.
We can only accept donations made on personal credit cards, not on business or corporate credit cards. By continuing to submit a donation, you confirm that your donation is being made on a personal credit card and not on a business or corporate credit card. By law, CHP-BC is not permitted to accept contributions from businesses or unions.
BC Tax Credits For Your Donations To CHP-BC
Your financial contribution entitles you to a tax credit on your tax return, with a refund or reduction in your payable BC Provincial income tax calculated as follows:
- You receive 75% back on the first $100 of your contribution.
- You receive 50% back on contributions between $100 and $550.
- You receive 33.3% back on contributions between $550 and $1150.
- The maximum tax credit is $500.
So, this means you can get a good portion of your donation back! Here are some examples:
